Ageless Desire. As inevitable as aging is, over time it looks different in individuals and communities. These works are entries into community, sexuality and desire as an aging gay man. The pieces focus on the space where desire and rejection meet, where connection and isolation reside, where age is both empowering and debilitating. Aging and physical decline provide me opportunities to re-evaluate my place in the world; often inspiring me to explore more deeply.
Pools. Painting men in pools a celebration of men at ease, expressing belonging and interacting with each other. Pools represent fluids, purity, cleanliness, suspension, temperature, inclusion, exclusion, isolation. Pools isolate a group of people who become their own community – much like the gay community.
