High Dripping Technique

A unique, original painting method that combines precise calculation with chaos. The artworks are created using a pipette, from which paint is dripped onto the canvas from a height through a specially designed matrix with holes. The paint droplets form splashes and blotches that appear abstract up close, but from a distance come together into a figurative image.

Technically, the process resembles something between Jackson Pollock’s dripping and inkjet printing. I begin by preparing a sketch, breaking the image down into tonal color ranges, which I mix by hand, and calculating the coordinates for each individual droplet.

Although the process is structured to a certain extent, there remains a significant element of chaos and unpredictability — it’s impossible to fully control how each droplet will spread upon hitting the canvas or paper, or how neighboring blotches will blend together.
